Ski Wear

I’d packed SO many layers for skiing in Arosa this year… heat tech tops from Uniqlo, cashmere from The Womens Society, leggings from Lulu Lemon… but given the abnormally warm temperatures – 6 degrees in hot sunshine – I ended up wearing single layers and my ski jacket.

I thought I’d do a quick run through of what I took anyway, as I would have found this handy myself when planning my packing list. Its always tricky with skiing, as I like to make an effort and think about what I’m taking, but practicality is key and I hate getting too warm or too cold.

My favourite ski jacket!

After much deliberation I invested in a new ski jacket. This ‘gothic blue’ one from Poivre Blanc was brilliant – warm and stylish on the slopes with handy pockets for lift pass and lip balm. The belt, faux fur trim and hood are all removable.

I was sceptical about the Topshop SNO range but I have to say these salopettes were amazing! They looked far more expensive than they were (£75) and were perfect for the warm weather we had. I sat on the snow a few times – no I didn’t fall over! – and didn’t get a wet bum. Just add leggings underneath for colder days. The braces are reversible and removable, plus the legs can be zipped up for a straighter fit, or unzipped to sit over your ski boots with more of a classic racer style.

I was so frustrated with my Bolle goggles last time I skied as they fogged up every few minutes. I didn’t want to invest too much so I tried out these Awenia goggles that I found on Amazon for around £28. They were brilliant! No fogging up and perfect in bright sunshine. The lenses are magnetic and can be changed for different colours depending on the brightness levels. Ski helmet is by Bolle.

From Russia with Love

I absolutely love this pillbox hat! It was so warm but also just such a lovely way to add a touch of chic for the evening. The lovely Helen Moore sent me a few of her faux fur items to take away and I’m so glad this hat was included. It will be coming skiing with me for years to come!

Apres ski

So this was my basic look most evenings. J Brand Joan jeans, my much loved, trusted Sorel Glacy boots a silk shirt, jumper and Helen Moore faux fur steel scarf. plus a head band to brighten things up.
